New South Wales is home to The Sydney Harbour Bridge, affectionately called the coat hanger, the world famous Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras that celebrates diversity and of course the beautiful city beaches and costal towns ensures there is plenty to see and do.

NSW is the second largest wine producing state but the majority of this wine is from the Big Rivers zone and is used for either mass produced bottled wine or cask wine. There is though world class Semillon and Botrytis Semillon, with other varieties such as Verdelho Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz also showing some excellent quality.

As you would expect, the area around Sydney Cove has the longest history of grape growing in Australia, with plantings dating back to 1788. James Busby’s who collected vine samples from Europe, of which over 350 vines survived, made a huge impact in development in the early history, as cuttings of these vines spread to other parts of NSW, Victoria and South Australia.
