40 minutes drive from the airport! Less than 30 minutes from the city! The wine region of Adelaide Hills being so close to the capital city is one of the joys of living in or visiting Adelaide. The winding roads and the picturesque rolling hills make for a perfect country drive, where discovering the little towns between winery visits is all part of the fun.

The history saw European immigrants move to the area and was well known as a hide out for cattle thieves, sly grog merchants and bushrangers of the colony. Today the bushrangers have all gone and the sly grog merchants are still there but have evolved and are under a different guise, making excellent wine and running top-notch cellar doors.

With over 40 cellar doors to choose from a winery is waiting with your name on it. Sample the cool climate varieties of Chardonnay, Pinot, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc with Cabernet and Merlot. The region is one of Australia’s largest geographical and is quite diverse, so go diverse yourself into the Adelaide hills.
