Visit A Vinery
Margaret River Margaret River

Margaret River is not for a day trip, but with stunning beaches that vary from the big surf breaks to some kiddy friendly spots and well over a hundred wineries, why would you only want to spend only a day here?

A quick pit stop at Busselton to visit the longest wooden pier in the southern hemisphere is a great way to break up the journey.

Margaret River is the number one tourist attraction of W.A. The region produces 3% of all Australian wine, but the more interesting fact is that it produces 25% of the top table wine in the country.

The region is famous for producing world class Cabernet Sauvignon Chardonnay and a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon. These three wine styles dominate the cellar doors list.

We did discover Shiraz has made some inroads with some excellent examples more akin to the Victorian cool climate regions, but keep an eye out for a few black sheep styles like Viognier, Sangiovese and Tempranillo of which there are some rippers.
